Default Canadian Para on loan ?? to 2 SAS 1944

Hi, I've just discovered a tiny piece of information about a Lt JM Rouseau, apparantly loaned ?? to 2 SAS for operation Loyton 1944, he was formerly a Captain in the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion. I'm curious to know how a Canadian Para would have been badged, whilst serving with a British unit like the SAS ??.

I think the question turns on the issue of "loaned" or "seconded".

I'm not sure but other Canadian officers on loan to British units wore the insignia of the regiment that they were serving in, with the addition of the 'Canada' title

That was for 'CanLoan' officers only, which was a specific program. Officers loaned or temprarily assigned retained their 'home' insignia.

I am reasonably sure that his duties in the field did not require him to wear his Canadian dress uniform all that often so it probably wasn't a huge issue.

I would not be surprised to learn that he wore no badges at all while so employed.
