They just keep coming. Now a darkened finish on a bad repro.

Bill,
Thankfully, not a ‘good’ repro! Cheap filler for the collection if need be.

I noticed that the seller doesn't actually say that it's original... these sellers know what they're doing

But whilst he does not use the word copy, he does say WW2 and I feel implies that it is original in the eyes of some people!

Absolutely right. He doesn't have to use the word original/copy/fake/repro etc etc. Its described as being a WWII badge - not a reproduction of one, or representative etc etc. But it isn't, so its a lie. End of story. Not that anyone or anybody will do anything about it.

Fakes
I see he likes to sew fake badges onto battle dress. Horrible tactic!

I agree and was not trying to imply anything different. All I'm getting at is that some sellers don't specifically state it's original so that they can claim they weren't trying to deceive..... "I never claimed it was original" type of thing. I'm not saying that's the case here but it is a known tactic.

Rather than the CanParas, which nobody should be bothering with as a credible 'restrike' since it is the dirt-common fantasy badge — no matter how patinated, browned or dirty one makes it — I'd be more concerned about the three CEF badges (46th, 119th, and 125th Bns.). Credible looking, but sure don't like those lugs.
Back to the CanParas, though. If it has voids, unless it's white metal on brass, maker marked Scully and has 5 rivets holding it together (i.e. is an officer's pattern), it is not even worth the effort typing to keep track of these things. They are like buses, there's another one along every ten minutes, and they are all bad, no ifs, ands or buts.

And just to echo David's comment, the bus is driven by many, many, many different vendors.
