Hi Shane, welcome to the Forum. The back of a badge ususlly tells more about the badge than the obverse. Could you post an image of the back?

Yours is a good badge. It is the "large" beaver, wide wreath, non-voided crown type. The engineers have a crazy number of variants of their badge.

Hi Shane, I will merge the two threads. (The Forum controls the first few posts by new members to protect against bots and spammers.)
Sorry, where is the O.B. Allan marking on the badge?

Thanks Ian. Still having problems seeing it....
Interesting that the O.B. Allan badges appear to be using flat sheet metal type lugs like the Ellis lugs.

I have several OB Allan badges with the sheet metal lugs. I think I have mentioned that in previous posts.

Phil, I think there needs to be an examination of the idea that certain lugs are only attributable to a particular maker.

Hi Larry, thanks for your help.As you say, there's several variations with these C.E caps.I only just noticed the crown issue and I'm glad it checked out fine.I've waited quite a while for a good one to turn up.This one has very good detail to the beaver and a nice ornery look on his face, whereas alot of the C.E caps I've seen the beavers don't have much detail & don't look very much like beavers at all, more like a bump on a log or sh*t on a stick! Anyway, thanks again for your help. Cheers. Shane

Hi Bill. Thanks for the post issue.Unfortunately I don't have a digital camera to take a closer photo,so I've used the pics from the auction. But the O.B shows up on the left side on the leaf behind the last 'E' of the reversed Engineers. Thanks. Shane
