Doesn't look like a cross with the wreath.

Could it be an East Lancs Regt badge?

Hi,
Could be Monmouthshire Regiment, possibly a Welsh Dragon there. Cheers, Tinto |

Fairly confident that it’s not a Rifle Brigade cap badge, can’t see any cross shape in the centre, I’d hazard a guess at Monmouthshire also.

Certainly a wreath with a Kings Crown above, it's what is in the centre that is the give-away, where was Grand-dad from?
If London it could be 17th Stepney and Poplar Rifles or 19th London, St. Pancras. If he was from Yorkshire Leeds Rifles could be a possibility. All are possible clues. Rob |

I think its too big for the Monmouths.

If we could have a full name we may be able to find a Medal Index Card, if one exists for him, which may gives us a few clues.

My initial thought was Monmouths. Definitely no scroll at the bottom so not East Lancs.

Here is a less over exposed version of the picture. He appears to be wearing black "rifle" buttons.

With colours reversed. Worcestershire Hussars perhaps?
