Default CAF Service pins

Hi

Amongst other things, I picked up these subject items at the recent Moncton Show.

For group edification, old (1985-2011) bronze level pattern on the left, new (2011-) bronze pattern on the right.

I was led to believe it was bronze for service that earned a Canadian Forces Decoration (CD);12-22yrs. Silver for a CD w/ clasp (22-32yrs) holder and gold for CD w/2 clasps (32yrs) and above. Can some kind member reference entitlement for the various grades?

Never mind; I found it:

Darrell,
From the same source (Gunny) I picked up a gold (32 yrs plus) old style service pin. I knew about them at the time but never applied for one, so now at least I have one for my blazer.

Hi Loyalist

I saw that Gunney had a few of these pins but I was distracted by the Canadian Forces Decorations for a while.

These 2 types of service pins would make a nice display, I think. Regardless, I'll wait for my gold one when comes time. If CRA is extended to 65............maybe they'll need to come up with a Diamond one!

regards
Darrell

Hi

Found this sheet of paper in the pages of a recently purchased book.

No idea what year but SIN # is a give away that it's pre-1991.

regards
Darrell
