It was a cartoonist's joke at the time (Jon - The Two Types) that BTA could not/would not give up their Eighth Army ways. Hence the KD. Mike

Thanks for the reply Mike - I will get down to the 3rd Man museum and take some pics when can. Some time ago I bought three of the US MP liners from a Major Howells who was posted there. He must have been there for quite a while as there are three different battalion numbers on them.
I had the interesting experience of attending a dinner for the surviving members of the British RMPs from the International Patrol at the Embassy some time back. I remember one chap I talked to had lost his eye arresting a drunken British squaddie. I suspect he's passed away now. Very nice chap. |

Hi, found the 8th Div patch in my dads things having passed away Sept 2020. I have created his story a bit on the web, inc photo of his patch and his pics from Austria with the Royal Warwicks.........just in case it fills any gaps
