Household Cavalry Fixings

Simple general question, but probably a complex answer! I've decided to start collecting the Household cap badges, 1st & 2nd LG, then Life Guards, Royal HG, Household Cavalry and Blues & Royals. What are the pitfalls? Are the fixings on all these lugs, sliders or both? I'm not interested in officer badges. Any advice, tips or good advice would be appreciated, with many thanks in advance.

Life Guards and HCR QC anodised versions found with east west lugs and with slider. The lugged versions to both are far more common .
I'm not 100% sure if they're now worn in new metal or still anodised.

Blues and Royals QC ,only seen them with lugs . Peter Taylor's anodised book states there is anodised version. I've never come across one,or know of an example.

RHG QC,the example I had was Dowler marked on the slider.

Well why not, they are really nice badges to collect, I suppose the main pitfall is simply all the copies, in particular, the GvR examples and to some extent the ER11 examples, although, not really something you need worry about with GRv1 period.
Blades, sliders and lugs upon the pre 1953 stuff and sliders and lugs on the rest.

Here are few I've put together, I'm happy with the GvR and GviR badges, the replacement sliders I believe to be done while the badges were in use and not later additions.
However the EiiR badges I'm not 100% confident.

Tony,the QC badges.
They look ok except for the Life Guards centre,bottom row. I don't like the look of the lugs or the back.

Good collection which does show how common it is to find blades and lugs period replaced on GVR badges. Regards, Paul.

You certainly need to be a little circumspect, a tiny regiment and yet so many badges around these days, I suspect only a small percentage have been anywhere near Knightsbridge and Windsor.
