Default Korea Pins

I have from my Father-In-Law's estate a good selection of militaria from the years of his career (43-73). He was a Field Engineer, did WWII, CAOF, Korea, UN and CAF. The attached photo has some of his pins from Korea, most are self explanatory. Does anyone have any idea as to what the two pins are with the cat in the boat are???????

I have seen these badges before but for the life of me, I can not recall what they represented. Any chance you have a Korean War Service Badge? I am still hunting for one and love to see them.

what is the cat holding ? that may be the key. It appears to be in an assault type boat and if he was engineers they would operate these craft.

Larry, My first post ever (With Jaime's prompting). Your Cat in the boat is the crest of the 23rd RCE Field Co, who in Europe WW2. I did an appraisal for a large amount of items relating to a member of this company for a donation to a museum. One of the interesting items was a painting on a propeller blade, from a Messerschmitt, by a fellow named GAMBLING, of the Cat in the boat, supposedly there were three of these painting done, location of other two unknown. Hope this helps a little. Jamie will add picture of painting shortly. Wayne

Very interesting these 23rd CRE items!
23rd Field Company CRE, temporarily attached to the British 43rd "Wessex" Division, were involved in "Operation Berlin", the ferrying across the Rhine at the end of Market Garden of the remnants of 1st British Airborne Division at Driel.
Still desperately looking for the book "The Twenty-Third Story" by their commander, Major Michael L. Tucker, privately published, Montréal 1947.
Any Canadians out there who can help me obtain a copy?

Rgds,
fougasse1940.

Default "Cat In The Boat" pin

Greetings Wayne!!! Nice to see you here!

So I now have an ID fro that pin. I had guessed that it was Korea - but the WWII Engr ID fits the bill perfectly. I have my father- in- laws UER and other records. He served in that unit for the last couple of months during the war and during the CAOF time period. I have that pin, a Tie pin and cuff-links
Thanks very much for the ID

Larry
