Default St George's Day

As it's St. George's Day today (not everyone will care about this of course!), I thought I'd post a pic of a non-military badge that I bought either at a jumble sale that used to take place in the local church hall back in the 70's, or one of the early car boot sales in the 80's (I can't remember which). I only paid one or two pounds for it, but it's a lovely gilt & enamel badge that I wear every April 23rd.
Regards,
Leo

Default Happy St George's Day

Hi Leo

A Happy St George's Day to you and all Forum members. That is a lovely badge you have there and quite a find, it seems to be the same as Benedetto Pistrucci's design on gold sovereigns.

As an Englishman living west of Offa's Dyke I usually wear a St George's cross badge on 23 April, but have been out today in my best bib and tucker (i.e. suit, 'weskit' and cap) sporting a red rose!

Anyroad, thanks for sharing your badge on England's National Day.

Best regards

Martin

Happy St Georges Day to all, nice example of the badge and a good find, Sally Bosley's site currently has one listed for £40.

Simon.
