DENIS EDWARDS
Please does anyone know the whereabouts of my colleague Denis Edwards, co-author of "Proficiency Badges"?

I cannot remember who told me but he was in a Nursing Home ( possibly near Prestatyn) but that was a number of years ago.

I was in regular contact with Denis for a number of years during which time he moved from Prestatyn to Frome ... alas contact was broken a decade ago at least - regards to him from my brother and me (Richard and Mike) if you make contact with him please.

Thank you both very much. As I was about ten years younger than him when we wrote the book in 1984, and as I am now early 85, I do hope that he is beating the odds, so to speak.

The second edition, edited and published by Denis on his own, was way back in 2005, since that year I have not heard from him, and my physical and email addresses have not changed.

I visited him in his house in Frome probably 15 - 20 years ago but as you say he must be getting on if indeed still hopefully alive. I could check the Road name if any good but I can't remember the number.

Not much use I suspect but in 2014 aged 90 a Denis Edwards of Frome, Somerset and born in Sheffield, was interviewed by the BBC about his wartime service from DDay.

I remember Denis turning up occasionally at the Liverpool MHS branch meetings in the early 1970’s with a suitcase full of badges for sale.
Later on I remember attending an arms fair at a hotel in Chester and Denis ( who wasn’t standing there ) invited me out to have a look in his large van where his stock of badges was. Very sad to learn that he is no longer with us, may he rest in peace. P.B.
