Default SAS badge

Hi All
Can somebody give me some info about this badge please. I am not sure if it is genuine or not, or even if it is British, maybe early Rhodesian? but would like some advice. It is well made so wouldn't be easily bent. I am sure I read something about SAS badges with wire fastenings in the past but don't remember where the reference was. It has some wear so it does look like it has been worn.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Alex

It's Belgian mate, can't help on the date, it's been worn since the second world war IIRC.

Hi Alex,

This is a Belgian Para Commando badge for the 1st battalion.

Worn on a maroon beret.

Cheers,
Clay

Default SAS tradition

Alex,

The 1st Battallion of the Belgian Para Commando Regiment carries the
SAS tradition of WW2.

That is why the winged dagger beret badge is worn.

best regards,

Johan

I am told this one dates to the 50-ties; I have a similar one and it is for sale

Cheers

The fixings on these were never very good. Why didn't they put lugs on these like the other Belgian badges of the period? My Belgian 1950's cavalry badges have very sturdy lugs.
