Para wings
Hi guys, I'll use my only para badge to get my posting rolling
I just received this a wee while ago from the son of a vet that was given it just prior to D-Day . Hope it is legit and I wasnt being sold a line :P |

Not so modest Jon, you are absolutely correct. It is a pattern sometimes referred to as "split feather", and a very nice example.

Tim, there is a line running horizontally at around the middle of the wings: it splits the wings into a top half and a bottom half (hopefully this makes sense). It is hard to put a date on these but I don't think you will find someone who will disagree they were around at D-Day.

Hey thanks Luc, that makes perfect sense...... can I ask is this a feature that is reproduced ? or have they not started on that ? (just for future reference it may help with my id ing badges correctly

Everything is reproduced by now. I strongly advise you to buy good reference books, absorb valuable info on forums like this, build a picture database on your pc and create a network of knowledgable fellow collectors.
