Default SAS Cap badge -- good or bad?

Have seen this for sale , said to be 1950s issue - Bi metal but with no Gaunt makers mark -- Wondering if this is any good ?

I woud be more concerned if it was marked Gaunt! Still looks ike a copy though! Very hard to tell as they have been faked so much!

agree with andy,about the marks,have been taken in before because of a faked makers mark.
personally would like to have seen a bit deeper of defination on the rear.it looks very flat on the rear

Default SAS CAP BADGES

My understanding is that metal cap badges were produced during the 50's at the time of the coronation.

That the anodised Gaunt badges were produced for O.R's and bi metal ones for Officers.

I am also led to understand that the bi metal Officer's badges were constructed whereby the yellow metal "wings" and scroll were attached to the white metal "dagger" (The rear of the badge is all one piece) by three prongs, as per the attached photos.

Also, that they had loops on the rear as opposed to sliders.

I await confirmation, or otherwise, from those more knowledgable than myself.
