SAR parachute wing?
sapper83 wishes some provenance on the bottom wing. It appears to be the parachute wing worn by Search and Rescue personnel, but in the pre-unification pattern. Anyone shed some light on that wing?

Better pictures would help but it looks like someone used a fine point red permanent felt marker and carefully colored in three of the seven parachute panels on a post war Canadian paratrooper wing.

Not sure this is better. Resized image.

The design on the bottom wings doesn't like right to make them authentic. The part that seems especially wrong is the space betweent the parachute suspension lines and the inside edge of the wings. I didn't join until after unification and didn't start jumping until a few years after that soI'm certainly no expert nor even novice on pre-unification wings. Therefore, I could be completely wrong on this.
I do know that the wings in the upper left corner of the picture are not authentic for anything. The closest they come to anything produced for Canadian wear is the Garrison jacket wings. I just checked my Garrison jacket and the wings are the same size as the regulation DEU wings. These ones appear to be smaller. Also the Garrison jacket wings wings were sewn in old gold (as opposed to new gold on DEU wings). |

I believe the gold wings are army cadet

That could be quite possible. The qualification that cadets receive is the same as for the military so I would have thought that cadets would receive the same wings.
