Default Argyll & Sutherland Dates...?

Hi,

Can anyone give a date for these two badges? Is one older or were they both issued at the same time?

Both belonged to my Great Grandfather (Joseph Haskell 3650 and 3/7788) who served twice with the Argylls before and during the first world war.

Thanks.

They are the same design. The earlier ones were either solid and/or had a raised cat's tail.

Thanks Alan. So would the differences in voids and details just be down to different manufacturers?

Cheers

Yes. There were minor makers differences.

Not only were there many differences in voids, but in overall size and the shape of the leaves surrounding the center. The A&SH have some the most variations of all badges.
