Default Royal Canadian Regiment Shoulder Title?

Hi All, would appreciate the comments of expert RCR collectors. I collect to Regiments my family served in and recently purchased this badge believing it to be a 1908-11 Shoulder badge to the regiment. On receipt however, it was smaller than i expected/believed and appears to have later fittings on the rear. Grateful for any observations or comments - Regards Mark

Mark,

For the expert on RCR badges, the person you want to speak with is Michael O'Leary who is known on t'net as The Regimental Rogue. His website contains a wealth of info on the Regiment's badges, which can be found here.

Good luck.
Dan.

These are often attributed to The RCR but the RCA also wore it, as well as the RCMR, plus some British units.

The example shown here does not match The RCR patterns, one being simple with no texture to the cypher and the other showing dots throughout. It is likle

Young Law, many thanks, i had that as a gut feeling, it was the size that did it for me, smaller than all the other shoulder titles i have but similiar to one shown on Mike O'Leary's site. Appreciate you coming back to me. Best Regards - Mark
