Default Mystery (to me) cap badge

Good day all. I keep my eyes on local estate sales and though there's mostly items of no interest, from time to time, military items come up. One such is this cap badge. I know Canadian stuff, but most English or European stuff, especially vintage leaves me scratching my head. All I have thus far is this one pic, but can any of you good folks let me know what it is and a value?

Thank you! Well, that was quick. Final questions though, any idea of the era or value?

Nice badge - I wonder how many people (ebay sellers) might have thought Royal Fusilers because of the grenade and "7" and despite the motto.

I am not an expert on U.S. badges and this probably isnt the right Forum to ask, maybe there is a similar Forum in the U.S. that could help.

If I recall dont the National Guard wear parade Uniforms still to this day with a Shako type head dress on which this could be worn?

regards
