Photos
Just a general observation but should collectors learn how to take photos properly and when they upload them also learn to have them in the correct position?
I never thought it was rocket science to have a photo of an item in the vertical position instead of the horizontal position.

Sometimes the images although the right way up when posted actually appear in the thread on their side.
Seems to happen more with cropped images, I've discovered. |

Ok. I wonder why that is?

This may explain:
When editing or resizing this particular image in Windows, we would know to rotate it 90 degrees anti-clockwise, so that when it's uploaded to a website, it would be displayed correctly. ... Since most foreign servers do not observe this Orientation flag, the photo is displayed in its original state (rotated sideways). Regards Gary |

Photos taken by iPhones sometime show up sideways on here yet look ok on my computer.
I think its the way Apple handle images. Mick

Same here. Very frustrating especially when it is unintentional

Really? you've had a photo rotated 90° during the upload process?

Yes, a number of times in the past but not recently.
I think they're ones that are taken on a phone and need to be rotated, cropped, saved etc on the phone prior to posting but persist in returning to their original orientation when posted. When it's happened I've commented on the posts that I can't get the images to post the right way up. |

I had the same issue Mike. Again like Leigh says it’s phone photos that I’ve cropped it’s happened to.
