Fantastic badge Ron. That is exactly the badge I'm after to complete the badges of my known ancestors up to the end of WW1. I suspect I may have a long wait and save my pennies!

Ron, another cracking badge! The variation in construction and detail is a revelation. Judging by the stickers on the back of your badges you must own a very high proportion of the surviving badges! Do you display these badges or keep them tucked away in boxes?
Does a non-sphinxed TF SNCO bi-metal badge exist to your knowledge? Bryan |

Bryan, badges are kept in mahogany cases in three different locations,
my numbering system is chaotic but total mumbers exceed 1,000. I have other collections apart from Black Watch see my off topic thread. No I have never seen a TF bi-metal badge. Ron. |

Ron, that is an interesting badge. Not least the construction but the fact that it is Sphinx-less. I take it there is no indication that it originally had one?
What are your thoughts on the date? Bryan |

Hi Ron,
A very interesting little badge you have there and of course some amazing examples being shared from your world-class collection. I have (as you probably remember) a similar small size QVC badge, it's my only Victorian example as I recall, so will share it here for interest. Also this little beauty is one of my all time favorites (along with my small 1st Vols ). Cheers and keep up the good work.. Roy.

Yes you are correct Roy there is no indication there was ever a Sphinx on that badge.
You have beaten me to the post on your small Vic badge I will post my examples of that badge soon. Ron. |
