Hi Micheal,

If you haven't already done so, I suggest you contact Griff, the 11th PAO Hussars is his love too............

If you ever decide to part with the R. Scotts Fusiliers' plume holder, please give me first refusal ??

Dave.

Dave

The "Prince Albert's Own Leicestershire Yeomanry Cavalry"..... not the Cherry's.

Both Regiments were called "Prince Albert's Own Hussars" during WW1... I have it documented in the Kings inspection

Also a nickname of the "Little 11th" because of the size of badge compared to the regular 11th PAO H.

There is only one "Albert Lesters" LYPAO

......... but there are two "Prince Albert's Own Hussars"

Hi Griff,

It's all clear now, Andy has just phoned me and put me out of my misery, that's " put me out of my misery ", not " put me down " like a poor old mutt because I'm old and decrepid ??

I hadn't paid enough attention to a) the badge and b) the title......11th Hussars and Leicestershire Yeomanry.........I'm aware now and this helps to prove that I know little about Cavalry.....

Dave.

Hi Dave

Its ok...... many get confused about it initially...... the 11th PAO Hussars are well known for obvious reasons.

Another question: when and who in the Greys wore all-white metal cap badge?

Can it be that the all-white metal cap badge was worn by the Regimental Pipes&Drums? I know for sure they had white metal Regimental buttons.

Dave, as I said, I think the white metal cap badge probably was worn by the Regimental Pipes & Drums.

Default Royal Scots Greys

Gentleman,
This is the last badge I need to get info on. Question is, is it real ? I plan to sell others on this web site but do not want to sell any repro's. I will also need to find what is a fair price.
35mm tall & 26mm wide at the wing.
Thank you for your help.
John

Hi John
I'm no expert, but the rear definition isn't what I would expect on a genuine one of these badges. The two examples I have both have a crisp reverse striking.
Cheers,
Alex
