Default RCA Anti-Tank Regiments, 1946 orbat

Working through the research on post war shoulder titles, I would like to check the lineage of the RCA Anti-Tank Regiments formed in 1946.
  1. 9 A TK was converted from Argyll Light Infantry
  2. 21 A TK converted from Fd to A TK? Wingham area.
  3. 35 A TK, Quebec City area, converted infantry regt or re-tasked artillery?
  4. 41 A TK, Calgary, converted or re-tasked?
  5. 45 A TK converted Grey & Simcoe Foresters
  6. 46 A TK converted Three Rivers Regiment /Régt Troi Rivieres
  7. 47 A TK Windsor NS, converted or re-tasked artillery?
  8. 48 A TK was 2nd Armd Car Regiment
  9. 62 A TK was converted artillery? Shawinigan Que.

62 Anti Tank Battery had its lineage through 62 (Howitzer) Battery RCA on Vancouver Island. At one point it was a sub-unit of 41 Anti-Tank Regiment and was later absorbed by The Canadian Scottish Regiment.
Somewhere I have a copy of the General Orders that detailed the 1946 reorganization.
Some of these units are detailed in Regiments and Corps of The Canadian Army.
Please see my post at the link for details on the lineage of 62nd Anti-Tank Battery RCA.

Hi Phil, A bit confusing here, the reference indicated a post war establishment of the 62nd as a Regiment.

Bill,
Which reference were you using?
I have a copy of GO 115 for May 1946 which outlines the conversions.
I can scan it and email it to you if you do not have a copy.
There is a 62nd Field Regiment that had been 62nd Light anti-Aircraft Regiment, but there was no connection between that unit and 62nd Anti-Tank Battery.
If you go to the link that I have provided, you can find the lineages for a couple of the Ant-Tank Regiments. The DHH site should also help you with some of the Anti-Tank Regiments that had their roots as infantry or cavalry.

9th A Tk - Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment
41 A TK - South Alberta Light Horse
45th A Tk - Grey and Simcoe Foresters

According to the General Orders, 21 A Tk was converted and redesignated from 21st (Reserve) Field Regiment RCA. This was because the core units were those left behind in Canada and designated Reserve, not the CASF units. For example 24 (Reserve) Field Regiment had no connection with 24 Field Regiment that was an active unit 6th Div.

Hi Phil, I would like to have a copy of that GO.
The reference I was using did not clearly indicate the sequence/lineage of the 62nd. The RCA reference indicated the titles as made were for Regiments, not Batteries.
The information was correct for the 9th A TK and 45 A TK.
Thanks
