Air Force badge in need of ID
Got this badge today which to me appears to be WWII Greek partisan/resistance movement pilots badge, but that is only a guess and I am hoping someone here can positively ID it.
It appears to be unmarked silver, about 2mm thick and solidwith 2 n-s threaded bolts and brass nuts to secure to uniform. Please see pictures for further description... Thanks in advance Steven |

Thanks Steve,
I did not think dutch at all but it may be a possibility. It appears to have possibly made by a jeweler. There are cut or file marks around the edges, very feint but present. The back is completely flat with the bolts soldered to the back. Attached another picture without nuts. Will probably hang onto it until I can get confirmation of what it is. Regards Steven |

Hi Steve,
Taken a scrounge around and do see the resemblance of the bird and crown to Dutch air force insignia, so you are probably spot on with Dutch Air Force Chaplain. Will keep you in mind if I decide to part with it. Regards Steven OK, definitely Royal Dutch Air Force 'AALMOEZENIER' brevet in silver. There is same badge in gilt for a 'PREDIKANT' Last edited by Milmed; 27-07-19 at 03:00 PM. |
