Hi to all the British collectors out there. I do not have a copy of Kipling and King so perhaps someone can fill me in on this British? badge.
Thanks, Greg |

W.a.a.c Badge
Hi Greg,
This is a cap badge to the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps.This is a nice WW1 badge as the W.A.A.C were raised in 1917 and then became the Queen Mary's Army Auxiliary Corps in 1918 with a change of cap badge.So your badge was only in existence for about 1 yr. Hope this helps Colin |

Hi Greg, to answer your question this badge (KK1066) is for the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps. Formed in 1917 from about 7,000 members of The Women's Legion. The OR's badge in guilding-metal and the Officers in in guilt and also in bronze. And I suppose disbanded at the end of the war.
Hoping that will help you. Cheers, Jo Nice to have a numbered badge! |

The title changes depending on where you look;
Women's Army Auxiliary Corps, or Women's Auxiliary Army Corps. Personally I have aways gone for the second one. I will have to consult Army Orders. |

I know it's an old thread but being quite a rare badge this is the thread I came up with trying to research an example I found!
Unfortunately mine isn't as beautiful and shiny as the one on the OP having spent decades in the ground! |
