It looked Ruski to me, but I don't know enough about respirators to identify one way or the other.

Yes, I was thinking either IP4/IP4-m Soviet ones.
On a side note, they are only around £20 on eBay complete with original "self destruct" oxygen scrubbers.

I'm not sure, probably knowing em Russians. What it is though is that the chemical reaction that 'scrubbs' the carbon from the oxygen needs what ever chemical it is to react. The process uses up this chemical though, and when it runs out explodes or something like that.

Did not know about the google search from uloaded images, might be useful fir unknowns.

Agree the odd badge looks respirator or oxygen madk and air tanks type thingymajibwhatsit

I’d had thought Soviet, too.

Try searching for ‘Ready for Anti-Aircraft and Chemical Defence’ (PVKhO) related badges — I have the inclination this badge is related to this - Home Front - organisation.

If I search for images and open one on my desktop I've "always" been offered the option to search for similar images, I tried it once tonks agobut didn't find it any more useful than just continuing a normal search.
I'll give it another go, never know.
