Default 71st City of London (HG) HAA insignia

Afternoon all,
I’ve been asked to help identify the insignia worn by a member of the 71st COL (HG) AAA unit.
I’m assuming a HG member rather than RA but the Granddaughter is unsure of what he was in.
Can anyone assist please?

Found this in a 2017 thread :

Quote:
As a battalion with City of London in its title its Home Guardsmen should have worn the Royal Fusiliers cap badge allocated to all City HG battalions but there is quite a lot of evidence that HG Gunners did wear RA cap badges unofficially. They should definitely have worn the AA Command bow and arrow sign.

A set of "71st City of London Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battalion Home Guard titles" was sold on-line , unfortunately the only show the back of the items !

One area that is confusing me is "City of London" versus "County of London" ?

Thread title "71st City of London (HG) HAA insignia" but link is for "71st County of London (H.G.) H.A.A. Battery"

County Distinguishing Letters

London, City of : COL

London, County of: LON

Any confusion is caused by myself. The lady asking only emailed me asking if I could assist.
There can’t be 2 separate units surely; County and city?
Please forgive my ignorance.

Default Update - no update

Morning all,
Didn’t want anyone assisting to think I’d forget about this thread. I’m still waiting to hear from the lady.
Thanks in advance
Jon

I’ve heard back from the grand daughter with some snapshots she managed to take without her Dad realising.
PSA
Below is my reply to save restyling the context.
“ Well, what can I say?
That’s a surprise.
Although the guys are wearing a white lanyard (Royal artillery) on their shoulder, they are wearing a SURREY’s regiment cap badge.
Looks like white in khaki HOME GUARD (HG) titles over HG district numbers.
The dark rectangle could well be the Anti-Aircraft command.
NOT what I expected to see!!
Leave it with me and I’ll confirm.
Great photos.
Can I share on a badge forum please to try and confirm what SURREY cap badge it may be?
Regards
Jon”””
