It’s a 99th Regt of Foot Coatee button, the use of that crown down to their Scottish heritage before they became the 2nd Wiltshire

Hi Irv
From 1824 (their formation) to probably early 1840’s
They and other Scottish Regiments started adopting the Doublet around the latter date.
Your button being open back likely puts it in the earlier period of wear.
