Default Gurkha Military Police

Hi Gents,
Through reading previous threads on the authenticity of Gurkha Military police metal badges could members make an opinion on this one please.
It is maker marked "Firmin London" & a gold colour metal which I haven't seen before (plenty of white metal ones).
Would appreciate Gurkha experts opinions on this one giving it either the thumbs up or down.
Many Thanks in advance.
Colin

Morning Colin,
The Firmin GMP badges should be in Gold Anodised with a slider. This was the sealed pattern. In the early days due to supply problems some locally cast badges were made in a coppery looking Brass.
Personally I am not happy with this badge, although both Firmin and Gaunt made metal versions of staybright badges for private purchase in various regimental PRI shops.

The white metal badges are fantasy, I've seen them advertised as NCO's etc. GMP were all NCO's like RMP. There are thousands of the WM badges around.
Officers badges are Silver or silver plate and marked as such. Detail is much finer as with RMP officers badges

Hope this helps
Regards
Steve

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your informative response. I kind of guessed from previous threads that this may well be the outcome!
Just thought I'd post this badge as I hadn't seen a gold coloured Firmin maker marked metal badge before and you never know!
Does any member have the sealed pattern a/a badge made by Firmin?
Many Thanks
Colin
