Default Help for novice ID'ing badges please!

I would be very grateful if anyone could please identify and explain the badges worn by the gentleman in the photograph. About what date do you think the photograph was taken? It looks like he was in the Royal Artillery? Many thanks in anticipation.

I wonder if the picture might be too big? I shall resize it. Thanks for the comment.

That's better. Thank you.

Royal Artillery, Great War period. The shoulder title suggests Territorial Force - example of possible type of shoulder title in your image here (though not necessarily London, of course).

He wears a 'gunlayer' arm badge, and is holding a crop.

Definitely Royal Artillery cap badge.

Is there another person on his left? There seems to be part of a swagger stick just visible on his left cuff.

Wedding ring too.

I am not sure about whether he might have anyone next to him. This is the only image I have. Many thanks for the information. He is supposed to be from the Bolton, Lancashire area. Were there particular units attached to such an area??

Once again, many thanks!

It does look like a T on his shoulder, so could the cap badge be the following? :

Agreed Phil; it does look like our man is wearing a TF shoulder title.

If he's holding a riding crop, that's probably Royal Field Artillery.

I was going to suggest R Field Artillery as well, David. And obviously a formal photo, taken before embarking perhaps or in a studio in France or elsewhere.

If you have the original photograph, you may be able to read the shoulder title with a magnifying glass.
