Almeric Paget Military Massage Corps Nurses badge
Almeric Paget Military Massage Corps nurse's uniform badge 1915-18 patten mine has some enamel damage but still a lovely badge.
I noted Engr post and thought I would share this image a little known and unusual badge many years later to be come physiotherapists still looking for cap badge and shoulder title. Regards Stephen

Very nice and I would think far from inexpensive these days, I should not be too concerned about a little damage given it's age.

Almeric Paget, grandson of the Marquess of Anglesey who led the Heavy Brigade at Waterloo, founded his Massage Corps in August 1914 to supply 50 trained masseuses in military hospitals for remedial work with the wounded. The corps received War Office recognition in early 1915 and the word ‘Military’ was added to the title in December 1916. From early 1917 members of the corps could serve overseas. In January 1919 it became the Military Massage Service. Some 3000 APMC/APMMC served during the Great War, nearly all in the UK. In 1917 when new guidelines for some treatments allowed soldiers to be treated abroad rather than brought home, there was a need for massage staff to serve abroad, the men being badged RAMC. In all 42 women served abroad in France and Italy, one – Mrs Catherine Pollock – being decorated with an MBE for service with 8 Stationary Hospital in France’. The armband worn is shown. Jon

Thank you for the information only 3000 i suspect few have survived due to them being quite fragile.
I have only seen others on line and never handled another. I have seen other cap badges but never seen the cloth arm version worn by members. Regards Stephen

I have one that could be made available for the right price. It has a small couple of chips (no fish....). Have had it for many years but have decided to focus on other fields as you can't have it all (but it is fun trying...)
