This may be of interest (I was searching for another thread showing some insignia I have, couldn't find it but found this one).

Could it be North Midland Field Ambulance?
There was one in the RAMC. Mick

I agree with Mick. They certainly had a metal WWI title. Chris |

Unofficial shoulder title of 137th (North Midland) Field Ambulance serving in 24th Guards Independent Infantry Brigade Group 1940-42 and again when it rejoined the 24th Guards Brigade after it again became a Brigade Group in 1944, continuing to be worn when 24th Guards Brigade joined 56th Division in March 1945.

Thanks all, for the ID. I wondered if it was North Midland along with other combinations of NM
Just brought to add to my collection. Jerry

Apologies, in my earlier post I should've specified that the thread I was searching for was one relating to this shoulder title and typed 137th (North Midland) Field ambulance instead of just posting a link to the unit ID.
There is a bit more info. in "Badges on Battledress" re. this title, I'll add it to this thread. |
