Looks like an award for some type of competition. Looks like a stylised cross with fancy engraving on the arms, and shamrocks between the arms. I think I can make out "H CO" and "1 ST" on the disc in the centre (not sure of what is on the bottom). The reverse states "Won by Corp. Campbell 1900".
So, like I have said, an award for some type of competition. Ian B
