Default Unidentified Light Infantry Style Button

This button arrived the other day and so far has eluded an exact identification, it shows a Light Infantry style bugle or horn with an unusual top device where the cord knot usually appears along with the numeral '1'.

Maker marked to the reverse by 'Stillwell & Son, London'.

To my eye it appears to have an Indian Army connection but having tried a number of Web searches I've drawn a blank.

Any thoughts or assistance would be most welcome.

Best regards, Simon.

I feel I have seen it before, possibly Channel Islands, Guernsey or Jersey?

Simon,

Many thanks for that, I'll refine my Web searches with that in mind and see what I can find.

Regards, Simon.

Simon,

Many thanks for the pointer, appears to be a button to the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry.

All the best, Simon.

Simon,

I'll have to keep my eyes open. What size is it and have you been able to date it?

Chris

Chris,

It measures 19mm in diameter and haven't established an exact date yet.

Regards, Simon.
