badly damaged button with year(?) 1802
This high concave button is battered beyond recognition.
It has a Georgian crown over script letters H...G. <with one or two letters missing> over the year 1802. The Treaty of Amiens was from 25/3/1802 until 18/5/1803. If it is military, then it should be from the early months of 1802. It has an open back and no markings. Anyone? |

I believe I can see a faint outline of the letter I in the centre, in the same style as letters you have outlined. Further than that, it’s out of my field. Good luck! D.J.

I can see two verticals in the centre, but I cannot see any fine horizontal lining, which would indicate they are part of letters. best regards, |
