Default 7 & 8th Leeds Rifles

Hi All
Can I have some opinions on this badge please? To me it looks good and has the appearance of age, with a bit of wear. The rear detail is also good, but I'd like some confirmation. If it is good, what is a reasonable price for one of these badges? Thanks in advance, cheers,
Alex

I think the inside face of the slider shows traces of black paint. I recently bought one for £10.00. I am not sure if that is good or bad, but I love the badge and to me it was very good value. I have a friend who has repainted a few of his badges, I have never done this but would be interested to know what type of paint would have been used originally?

I use matt black spray on the fronts but leave the backs as they come.

I thought the 7th/8th badge came in brass, blackened brass as well as white metal similar to the 7th and 8th badges?

I think you are right Dave, my example is brass and no sign of it ever being painted.

Mine too!

Leave it as it is, it's a nice badge!

Default 7th *th Btn Leeds Rifles

Hi
I have never really collected military badges but just joined the forum as I am having a clearout and just found a badge tucked away. I know that it is at least 60 years old as I swapped it with another kid when I was 6 (I am now 65). It is 7th 8th Bn Leeds Rifles in brass with a slider at rear. Happy to send photo if anyone is interested. Baz
