Default Unknown Cap Badge

Hi Forum

I have attached an image of a cap badge which I hope the forum can identify.
I have not included to complete image as it is a friends ancestor and I dont wish to place the image on the forum without thier permission.
Also there is nothing in the rest of the image that helps to identify the regiment.

To confuse the matter we do not know if the photo was taken during WW1 or WW2.

The nearest I have come to a match is the Royal Engineeers.
But happy to be correct on this.

Than you for looking at this.

David

Hi Tony

That was quick !

Thank you for helping to confirm it.
From information in a book we believe the man served in both wars.
But cant find any trace of him in WW1.
Burnt records perhaps.
So maybe he was in a different unit in WW1 and as an older man was placed in a another regiment in WW2.

Thanks again for you speedy reply.

David
