Default Opinions on these WW1 CEF badges

Hello,

Here are 3 more Canadian WW1 CEF badges.

I'm sorry for the quality of the pictures.

Could the CEF collectors please let me know if these badges are original or fake.

The 11th badge has a markers name A. O. ALLAN.

The 224th badge originally had a piece of black crust under the left-hand side of the maple leaf.

However, it's now been removed, but is this enough to cast doubt on the authenticity of the badge?

The Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, was it possibly made for the WW1 CEF or a later period?

I would be very grateful for any help provided.

Many Thanks,

Invest

The 11th BC Garrison Battalion was made by OB Allan Jewelers. The collar badges are quite large and are often mistaken (marketed) as cap badges.

Hello Bill and Phillip,

Many thanks for your help and information regarding these badges.

I just want to say that as a complete novice to WW1 CEF badges, I have found the help of forum members with their knowledge in this collecting area truly helpful.

And with that knowledge in mind, I've been able to acquire some original examples of WW1 CEF badges for my small collection, which are not fakes

Cheers,

Invest

Default Opinion on WWI CEF Badge

Inverstment, you are very lucky!

I would like to come back to the image shown for the 2nd CMR of British Columbia.
I think this badge looks a lot like a "collar"....

I have these...

Thank you for all your pics! It's a dream for me.
Nice evening.

Default Opinion on WWI CEF Badge

Hello Jean-Paul,

Lucky, yes sometimes, happens to us all, now and again

I believe the 2nd CMR badge that I posted is a cap badge, as it measures approximately 39mm x 39mm.

I'm glad you like the pictures I've posted, so far, and thank you for sharing pictures of your 2nd CMR badges, which are very nice.

Cheers,

Default Opinions on these WW1 CEF badges

Hello,

Here are 3 more Canadian WW1 CEF badges.

Could the CEF collectors please let me know if these badges are original or fake.

The 12th badge has a slider, so I was wondering if this is a common occurrence.

Also, is the little maple leaf a post WW1 sweetheart badge.

I would be very grateful for any help provided.

Many Thanks,

Invest

Hi Invest. The 12th and general list cap badges are original and authentic. Sliders were typical of badges made for the CEF in UK. The maple leaf with Canada is a patriotic or sweetheart pin. No way to conclusively date the pin.
