Default What is This Button Please?

I acquired this button, and thought it was Royal Navy, but in my research of Royal Navy buttons I don't find it. I also checked RN Hospitals but no luck. Could it be a school button or maybe a yacht club button? I am not sure what the second letter on the right is, which didn't help.

Hopefully someone will know,

Thank you,

Terry

Hi Terry

No expert, but it looks like.

Royal Naval Reserve - Officers Roped Rim.

The button has RNV on it.

therefore the RNVR I would think.

Absorbed into RNR c. 1958.

The letters are RNV, a Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve officers' button with the Queen's crown dating from 1953-58.

I have looked very closely at it after seeing the replies and it only has 2 letters, and "R" and I can the other as a "V" now. I can try for a better picture to post tomorrow if that would be helpful.

Not the exact same font, but close enough to illustrate the point.

Thank you gentlemen! I'll go get the dunce cap and sit in the corner!!!

The button came with some other bits in a small lot, as it is not something I would go for as it doesn't fit in my areas. But happy to know what it is!

Now that I know what this button is, I am wondering if it might belong with the two QARNNS Reserve titles that it came with? Would/could a QARNNS Nurse wear this button? If so, I need to keep it with them.

Thanks, Terry
