Default Please help identify this 1868 Badge/Medal piece.

Hi All,

I've been metal detecting an area with a lot of Victorian buttons etc. We got onto a hill where we had just found 3 x Victorian Artillery buttons when I picked this up. Any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated although there may not be much to go on except the word "Crowned" and the date 1868 (possibly 1858) and partial star shape I would assume.

Thanks in advance.

It's a souvenir item commemorating the coronation of Queen Victoria in 1838, or perhaps a later anniversary of the coronation.

Looking at the age of Q Vic in the photo mounted on the cross then it's a post coronation item.

The text on the back of it seems to match the example I posted - or at least it seems to in my eyes

The one I posted appeared to be a cheap 'cast' item with nothing on the back.

Unlicensed merchandise; nowadays they would take legal action to protect their brand.

Exit through the gift shop.
