Relic from rear front, found in France...
Badges from Commonwealth's armies are from time to time found on the rear front-WW1. This collar badge was made for an Australian officer and was surely lost, found many years after and was finally given to me. Today I'd like to share that discover with you.

It's been brooched at some point unusual for an item while in action, perhaps from a visitor to the battlefields in the 1920s? Unless Aussy suns were brooched?
Nice badge though, unusual for it not to be hollow backed. Tom |

Australian General Services
Some of these were made with a brooch pin, I have had them in the past, but prefer loops for my collection.

collar badge
This badge have the same size as an usual australian collar badge. It seems to be "plated".
I think this badge was used and lost during ww1... |

There is a thread here in the Australian section, somewhere, regarding brooched collar sized badges being worn by nurses as clasps.

brooched badges are more often than not sweetheart badges.
