It's a standard issue RN divers knife, I acquired it about 1996 from the lost property at the Royal Naval Hospital Haslar in Gosport!

I thought it must be an issue divers knife but my knowledge of such is zero.
20 years ago I worked with a bloke in BiH, he had a salvage buisness, diving on ship wrecks, also a hobby, retrieving items from them including badges etc.
He took a liking to a RAF survival knife I had, thinking it'd be a good diving knife so I gave it to him (I had two).
Both acquired from found property.......

I remember being issued one for a course many years ago and quickly deciding that my civvy dive knife was far superior. Some issue kit is great, some rather less so.

Thanks for posting the CD/EOD mudguards, a couple that I've never seen before to look out for!

Hi Royal, some of the mudguards are private purchase, when the CD Divers started wearing the CS95 kit (instead of the No8/4 Action working dress mixed with various items of DPM kit) some divers (in Portsmouth at least) had mudguards and epaulette/rank slides (which were basically the branch badge in black on olive green or yellow/gold on desert DPM) made up by Tailor Lee in Queen Street. Several styles were produced over time, and though not "official issue" were tolerated (though divers have always been a bunch of pirates and a law unto themselves). The badges I have, were given to be by a diver friend and were all actually worn at some time, up until the official insignia was issued, the divers have now gone back into blue naval working rig and now wear a white on blue Bomb Disposal title (which I don't yet have!)

Very nice collection . I,ve 2 frames full of R.N + Army diving branch patches , still growing. The white badge I think is quite rare as white badges were only worn on the Royal Yacht - as opposed to tropical issue of blue on white. The knife is indeed R. N. standard issue from ? 70s/80,s .Will try to post some pics .
Cheers , Steve
