Default Padded navigator wing on lapel pin. Part II.

From what I have recently learned, an original WW2 period wing... Am I correct ?
Thank you,

Unfortunately, unless you have provenance it is impossible to say.

The navigator wing was authorised from 17th September 1942, and is still used by those qualified, although it began to be phased out from 2003. The construction of yours suggests any date from 1942 into the mid or late 1960s. As you probably know, the metal plate and pin to the rear indicates it was used somewhere like the middle or far east, making it easier to remove from the uniform for washing.

A good badge, you are certainly in the ball park with that example, before that, you were a long way off.
