Gloucestershire Regt
Hi Chaps,
Just a quick question regarding the Gloucestershire Regt's back badge, I have a few in my collection but would like to know what characteristics would date one to WW1 era? It's an overlooked badge by me so now trying to date the ones I've got Gerard

Hi Gerard,
The following information was posted by a Forum Member (unfortunately I cannot recall his name at present): Timeline for “Back badges”: 1882 for back of helmet, bimetal, WM sphinx in GM wreath, c28mm 1896 sphinx in wreath all GM, c 20mm 1918 the 1896 pattern declared obsolete and the 1882 pattern worn again ! 1936 new pattern, very similar to the 1896 one Cheers, Tinto PS KLR (Julian) provided the timeline information, thanks.
