ID Please?
Hi everyone,
I have inherited these insignia from my grandfather via my father and would like to know a little more about them if possible. It is not my intent to sell any of them, I would just like to know about them. If anyone can help, it would be hugely appreciated. My grandfather fought in Europe in WWII and I assume they were his, though my great grandfather fought in WWI and they could just as easily be his, my father served in the New Zealand Navy and I'm pretty sure they're not his. I am particularly curious about the blue V with the crown and fern, and the Onward cap badge that seems to have had its original crown removed and had a later model crown attached. I can provide individual images if it helps. Thanks for any and all help offered, I'm sure you must get questions like this all the time. |

the left hand side badge has a queens crown and is post 1953, the NZ Army offices school wears this badge today but yours looks quite old
the 2nd from left is a WW2 period badge the small onward badge is a collar - WW2 period the V badge is a badge worn by men who had volunteered for service but not yet called up and wearing uniform - apparently useful in stopping the white feather girls |
