Jo,
The AMC does indeed represent Army Medical Corps, but from my research represents the Australian Army Medical Corps and not a British unit. If you search the forum, there are some threads on the AMC titles. As for Westlake and pre RAMC titles, there is an AMS (Army Medical Staff) and MSC (Medical Staff corps - Westlake #405) Steven |

As a follow-up to my original inquiry, here a photo helping identifying the two A.M.C. metal tiltes I was asking about...... All comments will be appreciated. Also included is aphoto of two home guards shoulder tiles. The first one with the crown, is supposed to be from New Zealand...with regular lugs and without any maker marks.........can it be confirmed. Aa for the second one.......possibly 2nd WW british.???......it has two "home made" wire lugs roughly "in the field" soldered with lead in the back. All comments will be appreciated. http://www.militaria.qc.ca/joe9.jpg Thanks Jo

AMC - any chance it's to do with the Almeric Paget Massage Corps?
It's missing a "P" but there is a title PMS, "missing" the A. Last edited by leigh kitchen; 06-11-17 at 05:37 AM. Reason: Predictive text likes s too much. |

Yes, the HG with Crown was worn by Home Guard in New Zealand. Have not seen the other HG type. Cheers, Tinto |
