Smile Help!!!

I bought a Royal Marine valise badge with a QVC recently without fixings, I thought at first that a couple of loops soldered on would be OK, however when I removed the lead solder that was in the place of fixings there was evidence of different fixings.

Could anyone with a complete version of this badge send me a photo of the reverse so I can restore this badge to it's original format.

Thanks in advance, Rob

The one I have, flat tube to slide on the vertical strap of the values equipment and the hook to pierce the strap and stop the badge from slipping downward

Default Royal Marine valise badge

Leigh,
Many thanks for the information on this item, it is as I thought, so hopefully I can restore it to it's original condition.

I need to check the badge, I can't remember if it was originally produced with those fittings or if it may have had lugs and then been adapted for use on the valise equipment, the lugs being removed and the tube and hook attached, probably by solder.

Looks like the tube and hook were the original fittings, brazed on, not soldered.

Default Royal Marine valise badge

Thanks again Leigh, I think my badge had the tube fitted on the bottom, but where your hook is it seems mine may have had another device to stop the badge slipping, I will fit a hook I think.

Regards Rob
