Victorian Cipher
Hi,
Sorry, probably not the correct place for this post. But does anyone have a clue as to what this could be from? Looks like it has the start of a serial number at the bottom so thought it might be military. |

How big is it? It looks like it might be a horse tackle (saddlery, reins etc) device, which was fitted to the items to id them. I have a couple but no photos, at least, that is what I believe they are.

Thanks, Alex, It was found together with another piece of metal of similar size. We dug them up on a farm with other Victorian buttons etc. If I put them together I can see how it could have been crimped onto reigns or something similar.
