Default Crossing My Fingers

Gentlemen, Although I am not sure I really want to know, but not knowing is worse. Therefore, can you all advise if this one is good or bad please?

I am so hoping it's good, but also need to know for sure. My very sincere thanks

Terry

Thank you David!!!! I really like the badge and that is why I wanted it to be good. I was told it was a WWI badge, but don't know. I put it with some Surrey HG items I have and if WWI, figure he was in the first go round in the regiment.

Thanks again!!!

I have one just like it; a lot of brazing holes. I think the badge in question has some polishing wear.

It does indeed. I am not bothered by that at all. I really prefer items that have been used and worn over one that only saw action on the QM's shelf. But, I am not saying trashed unless it's a dug piece and I do have some of those.

Does anyone know if it's WWI between the wars or WWII? I have looked in all of my references and cannot tell.

The only real issue I have with items I get (not counting fakes and especially when the seller knows it and still sells it) is I do not like patches or fabric pieces that have glue on the back from being put in a book or some kind of display. To me that absolutely ruins the patch, and I find myself regretting it and going for another that doesn't have glue on the back. So now, I just wait for one without glue and besides the hunt is part of the fun isn't it! I also know most are not bothered by glue on the back.

A text book example of a Great War period East Surrey Regiment cap badge with its plethora of sweat holes. To see similar examples have a look at my East Surrey Regiment album.

"Plethora"? What is this? An offshoot of University Challenge?
