Default WM SWB cap badge opinions please

Hi folks

This looks like a WM SWB cap badge with a Guant London slider, my question is
1 is it a fake?
2 if genuine who wore a WM one?
Cheers
Sean

The "GAUNT.LONDON" mark is a fake mark, the genuine ones didn't have the full stop between the words.
Sorry, cheers,
Alex

The badge is a repro. But just to be clear there is a genuine Gaunt mark with the dreaded dot in the same position. The genuine mark is somewhat smaller at 11mm and the lettering much more squished together.

Examples are in the makers mark section https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/ma...arks/gaunt.htm

I can tell from the spacing on yours that is the fake 15mm mark which appeared in the 1970s fake flood.

I think to be quite honest even without any mark, both the materials used as well as the slider really do show it as what it is, never mind, plenty of original badges out there and often for very little money.
