Administartion Corps
It would be appreciated if I could have the dates the backing colours were changed on this badge.
This will of course lead on to the Supply Corps. Marc Last edited by 54Bty; 09-02-22 at 06:16 PM. |

Marc,
The backing for this badge was pinkish red until 2001 when it changed to ochre yellow(Logistics) until 2010. After 2010 it went to Crimson red (colour for military admisistration) Regards, Albert.

Thank you again Albert.
I am a little confused, the first badge shown above came to me as the Supply and Transport Corps on a red and blue backing. The second came with only the title of Supply Corps with the yellow backing. So my questions are; is the title Supply and Transport Corps or just Supply Corps and is the first badge on the wrong backing? **** Would you know of any supplier of the correct cloth backing? Most of the cloth I can find is rather thin felt. Marc |

Hi Marc,
The title is bevoorradings- en transport troepen which translates as Supply and transport troops And yes the red badge backing has a small Nassau blue line to each side. ( actually the the backing consists of two pieces of cloth, the front one is red and back one, which is a small bit wider is blue) regards, Albert.

Brilliant, thank you. I think you should write an updated book, the ones I have are rather old.
There are bound to be more queries, but, it is past my bed time. Marc |

Marc,
You are right, all reference books on these badges are at least 30 years old . glad I could be of assistance, I am off as well now. Regards, Albert.

De Bevoorradings- en Transporttroepen are a merger of the Intendance and the Aan- en Afvoertroepen (AAT). The badge incorporates both former badges: the crossed wheat sheaves within a chain on red of the Intendance and the winged and crowned wheel of the AAT on (Berlin?) blue. With the replacement of the common yellow background for the ones used earlier of all support services, they choose this colour merging described above by Albert.

University Training Units?
Continuing my theme. I believe there are four different coloured backings to match the four University's. I have one as below, but what are the others, and when did the badge come into use?

The first is available on Amazon, the second part, I think you will have to go to a book seller in Europe, neither are very expensive £10 to £20 plus postage. Marc |
