Default The kings regiment

Last one for today. Suspicious because of makers mark, and could not find all brass badge in K.K.

Just to reassure everybody none of these badges are intended for auction sites. If they are fake will chuck in the duff box, If ok would be happy to trade anything for my wants.

The King's TF wore both all w/m badges and also blackened brass badges.

Assume you’ve missed the n’t off of the would? That Lambourne mark is bent as a 9 bob note.

It purports to be a WO Pattern 4362A/1896 - worn between 1896 and 1926. BUT this is a very common ghastly fake. It appears in BM, GM, WM and even what passes for bronze !
Lambourne used a very distinct die for King's badges (see my album) - a million miles away from it.

https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...id=1002&page=3

This shows the 2 TF versions with the correct apostrophes.

Actually, reversed quote marks do exist on these badges - particularly on Die 16 (I have classified 23 various dies for this Pattern). Your 7th Bn badges is Die 7 - which was only used for TF badges. Your 5th Bn is Die 11 which was used by all: offr, OR BM, WM and GM.

There's no such thing as "correct" in the world of badges !

Sapper, K&K cover only a fraction of British cap badges - and if you were a single regiment fanatic like me you'd soon how many variations there are !

Good luck, there are loads of good ones out there.

KLR I did check your album ( least think it was yours ) I did did see a brass/ GM example. But could not work out exactly what it was, when you guys put up your albums I find it a real help. I have just spent last couple of months going through my small collection and comparing my badges with everything on the forum. The forum has been a real help, although I have had to accept at lot of my badges were fake in the end who wants a collection of fakes. So thanks very much.
